Zeekr Indonesia has officially launched its two electric vehicle models, the X and 009, on Friday (22/11) at the Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week (GJAW) 2024 in BSD. The X, an SUV, is priced at around Rp1 billion, while the 009, an electric MPV, starts at Rp2 billion.

With these premium price tags, the brand, which operates under Geely Holding Company, is targeting the Ultra Luxury EV segment.

“Zeekr recognizes the competitive landscape of EVs in Indonesia as an opportunity to showcase our strengths. We believe that Indonesian customers are now well-informed and discerning in their choices. We offer products that align not only with pricing but also with quality and safety,” stated Lano Tungka, Marketing & PR Head of Zeekr Indonesia, during a meeting in Pondok Indah on (13/11).

The arrival of this new Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer intensifies the competition among Chinese EV brands, previously dominated by BYD, Aion, and Neta.

Lano Tungka, the Marketing & PR Head of Zeekr Indonesia, mentioned that the company will open only one dealership in Pondok Indah, South Jakarta, with plans to launch two more locations next year.

“For 2024, we will establish one dealer equipped with 3S facilities in a very strategic location in South Jakarta. We hope to have a soft opening by the end of 2024. Next year, we might expand to Batam or Bandung, but we are still negotiating the best options,” Lano concluded during an interview in Pondok Indah, Jakarta, on Wednesday (13/11).
