Ria Ricis recently attended a court session concerning her former security guard, who is facing charges of extortion. She was present to provide testimony as a witness during the proceedings held at the South Jakarta District Court.
During the hearing, the defendant, AP, was seen directly apologizing to Ria Ricis in the courtroom on Thursday, November 21, 2024. After the session concluded and she had a face-to-face meeting with AP, Ria expressed her sadness about the situation.
“It’s not really about anything specific; I’m just sad because he was an employee I knew well. Those who have seen us before know that we used to make videos together and spend a lot of time with the staff. So, this whole incident is just heartbreaking. I feel more sad than anything,” Ria Ricis shared in the Ampera area of South Jakarta.

Ria confirmed that AP had indeed apologized, and his family had also reached out to her with their apologies.
“Yes, he has been apologizing since yesterday, and even his wife has reached out to me. We forgive them, but the legal process must continue. If every bad action could be resolved just by saying sorry, that would be too easy. So, we’ll let the law take its course,” Ria Ricis stated.
AP had worked for five years in Ria’s household. However, she was initially unaware that he had been dismissed from his position as a security guard.
“The last thing I knew was that he was let go, but I wasn’t the one who terminated him. At that time, I was renting another place, and suddenly I found out he was no longer working there. I thought, ‘Oh, he’s not working anymore.’ And that was all there was to it,” she explained.
AP was arrested and is facing trial for extorting Ria Ricis for 300 million IDR by threatening to distribute a photo of her exercising without a hijab. He justified his threats by citing financial difficulties.
