Jakarta, IDN Times – Politician from the Gerindra Party, Maruarar Sirait, expressed his enthusiasm for Ridwan Kamil potentially becoming the Governor of Jakarta, especially with Prabowo Subianto as President. He believes that a harmonious leadership in Jakarta is likely when both come from the Coalition of Advanced Indonesia (KIM). Ridwan Kamil, a member of the Golkar Party, has been nominated to run in the Jakarta regional elections.
“Wouldn’t it be great for Jakarta residents if President Prabowo is in office and Ridwan Kamil is the Governor?” Maruarar posed the question during a major campaign event at Lapangan Banteng, Central Jakarta, on Saturday, November 23, 2024.
He further emphasized that when the President and the Governor work together, it could lead to increased budget allocations from the central government to Jakarta.
“This means more funds can be directed towards education, healthcare, and sanitation—don’t you think that would be beneficial?” he inquired.

Maruarar also mentioned that despite the backing of Anies Baswedan for the Pramono Anung-Rano Karno camp, they remain undeterred. In fact, this competition only fuels their enthusiasm.
Commonly known as Ara, he claimed that there are more supporters from the PKS backing Ridwan Kamil. He also noted that Ridwan Kamil is courageous enough to confront radicalism in Jakarta. Furthermore, he highlighted that Ridwan has a proven track record of facilitating permits for building places of worship.
