Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
Yusuf Permana, the Deputy for Protocol, Press, and Media at the Presidential Secretariat, addressed a viral video that depicts Cabinet Secretary Mayor Teddy Indra Wijaya saluting businessman Sugianto Kusuma, also known as Aguan.
Yusuf clarified that the individual in the video is not Aguan, but rather Teddy’s former superior in the military.
“That is completely untrue. He is actually Major General (Ret) Asro Budi. He was Pak Seskab’s commander when he served in the Army’s Infantry Center,” Yusuf stated in a text message on Thursday (January 23).
The clip showing Teddy saluting Aguan has gained significant attention on social media.
Aguan has been in the spotlight due to the controversy surrounding the coastal fence issue in the waters off Tangerang, Banten.
The Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/ National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) noted that there are 263 land parcels with Right to Build Certificates (SHGB) along the coastal fence in Tangerang. This includes 234 parcels under the name of PT Intan Agung Makmur, 20 parcels under PT Cahaya Inti Sentosa, and nine parcels owned by individuals. Additionally, there are 17 other parcels with Land Ownership Certificates (SHM).
Both companies with hundreds of HGBs are linked to the owner of Agung Sedayu Group, Sugianto Kusuma, or Aguan.
Currently, the government is still investigating the ownership of the coastal fence. Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Sakti Wahyu Trenggono has refrained from speculating about the owner of the coastal fence.
He did, however, confirm that an administrative fine of Rp18 million per kilometer will be imposed on the owner of the coastal fence, which stretches 30.16 kilometers in Tangerang.
“That’s about 30 kilometers, and the fine is Rp18 million per kilometer,” Trenggono stated at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday (January 22).
