Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI) has reaffirmed its commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) by launching a new initiative focused on education. The company has recently partnered with GuruInovatif.id to enhance the quality of teaching in schools.
This collaboration is marked by the CSR program titled “BUMI BERDAYA: Taking Action to Enhance Innovation, Together in Endeavor,” held at D’Prima Hotel Tangerang on November 21, 2024. The program aims to elevate the teaching quality at both elementary and secondary school levels through intensive training and workshops centered around the Merdeka Curriculum.
The opening event was attended by 120 participants, including representatives from the Education Office, the Ministry of Religious Affairs, and BUMI’s management team. The program targets 24 schools in the Tangerang area, benefiting 120 teachers who will receive training to enhance their teaching skills.
A key focus of the training is lesson planning, utilizing engaging models that cater to student needs, enabling educators to inspire and motivate learners more effectively.
The program is set to run for eight months, starting with two months of intensive training aimed at improving teachers’ teaching skills, including innovative teaching methods, educational technology, and project-based approaches.
Following this, the initiative will continue with six months of monitoring sessions through a membership program, where teachers will receive ongoing support and guidance to implement the knowledge gained during the training.
Renova Viscky, Vice President of Risk Management, GCG, and Sustainability at BUMI, emphasized the company’s dedication to making a positive impact on society through education-based programs.
“With BUMI BERDAYA, we aim to contribute to the development of innovative teachers who can maximize the potential of our nation’s children,” she stated in an official release on Tuesday, November 26, 2024.
The essential needs of education extend beyond teaching materials; they also encompass the mastery of innovative teaching methods. This program is expected to create a significant impact, enabling teachers to apply techniques that enhance student understanding and engagement in the learning process.
“We hope that this initiative will serve as a tangible step toward improving educational quality and encourage all of us to advance together in building a capable and character-driven generation,” she added.
It is important to note that the BUMI BERDAYA program is a continuation of BUMI’s CSR efforts in the education sector. In 2019, the company initiated a Digital Library program for 70 schools in the regions of Bekasi, Tangerang, and Bogor.
By partnering with GuruInovatif.id, PT Bumi Resources Tbk is further solidifying its commitment to enhancing educational quality, particularly in the Tangerang region, with a primary focus on teachers as agents of change in education. Moreover, this program aligns with BUMI’s efforts to support the achievement of SDG 4, which aims for Quality Education, by providing equitable and high-quality educational access. This initiative is designed to create relevant and effective learning experiences.
