2025, PTDI Menyatakan Siap Optimalkan Kapasitas Produksi Roket untuk TNI

TEMPO.CO, Bandung – PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI) has declared 2025 as a pivotal year to enhance its production capacity of weapon systems, aiming to meet the Indonesian National Armed Forces’ (TNI) defense equipment needs. A key focus will be on developing rocket systems across various platforms, leveraging licenses from Thales Belgium, which is part of the Thales Group.

The rocket system production facility of PTDI is located in the Production Zone (KP) III Tasikmalaya. This site boasts an impressive production capacity of 10,000 rockets annually, along with 5,000 units of Warhead each year. This includes the Firing Control System and its integration.

“The year 2025 signifies a moment for PTDI to demonstrate our readiness for a brighter future,” stated PTDI’s CEO Gita Amperiawan in a press release on Monday, December 30, 2024. He expressed confidence that PTDI is poised to meet the defense and security equipment requirements of Indonesia from 2025 to 2029.

Gita further highlighted PTDI’s promising future by referencing the contracts successfully secured over the past three years and various strategic collaborations established. “These partnerships are not limited to domestic alliances but also include collaborations with several global key players in the aerospace industry.”

Gita emphasized that PTDI remains committed to the aerospace sector by delivering high-quality, competitive aircraft, incorporating the latest technological innovations, and actively working on the development of the aerospace ecosystem.

On November 22, 2024, PTDI signed a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) with PT Yasa Artha Trimanunggal and PT Semuwa Aviasi Mandiri (SAM Air). This collaboration involves the provision of 12 aircraft produced by PTDI, including two NC212 series planes intended to support the national food resilience program, facilitating food distribution to remote areas through challenging access routes in Eastern Indonesia.

The two NC212i aircraft are previously operated units that will undergo refurbishment by PTDI. They are intended to serve as a bridging logistics transport mode until the first unit of the N219 aircraft is delivered.

Currently, PTDI is finalizing the production of a CN235-220 Military Transport aircraft ordered by the Ministry of Defense for the Indonesian Navy, along with the seventh of nine NC212i aircraft for the Indonesian Air Force. The Navy’s aircraft is entering the Basic Airframe construction phase, while the Air Force’s aircraft is scheduled for completion in February 2025.

Gita expressed gratitude for the trust placed in PTDI by strategic partners in the government sector, including the Ministry of Defense, Bappenas, and BRIN. “We hope PTDI’s presence can drive progress and positively impact the resurgence of the national aerospace industry,” he said.
